AI agent

An AI agent for customer service, without commissioning a build

You don't need to develop an AI agent to serve customers on WhatsApp or your website. In Volga it is configured with your business information: upload what you know, connect the channel and test it before opening it to the public.

People who look for someone to build them an AI assistant usually want three things: answers based on their own business information, no made-up facts, and a person able to take over the conversation. Volga already covers that; what the business contributes is its information and its rules.

What Volga gives you

Configured, not coded

Upload text, files or a spreadsheet with your business information, write instructions in plain language and choose how it should sound. There is no code and no integration to maintain.

Answers with your information

The AI replies from the knowledge base and catalog you uploaded. It is instructed to say when a detail is missing instead of making it up.

Test it before going live

From the dashboard you can chat with your assistant without WhatsApp, see which sources it used in each answer and adjust the information until it replies the way you want.

Volga brings the model

You don't have to hire or connect an AI provider. Volga uses a default model and, depending on your plan, an administrator can pick another one from the available list.

Building an agent versus configuring one

Building a custom AI agent is much more than choosing a model: connecting the channel to the WhatsApp API, assembling and maintaining the knowledge base, keeping it from inventing answers, handing cases to people, logging what it said and keeping it running whenever something changes. It is a technical project with permanent maintenance.

A platform like Volga brings that part done: the connected channel, the team inbox, the knowledge base, the test console and the handoff. What the business contributes is its information and its rules, and that takes no programming.

  • Custom build: full control of the code, more cost and maintenance.
  • Configured: ready after the steps below, no technical team.
  • Either way, quality depends on the information you load.

What a customer does to get it running

The steps are the same for any business and are done from the Volga dashboard.

  • Create the account and choose a plan with AI.
  • Load the information: text, PDF, TXT or Excel files and Google Sheets, depending on your plan.
  • Write instructions and the preferred tone, and set business hours.
  • Turn the AI on and test it from the dashboard, without WhatsApp.
  • Connect your WhatsApp number from the dashboard through Meta's flow, or paste the chat into your website.

What you control once it's running

The assistant is not a black box. Every reply stays in the inbox labeled as AI and, when it came from your knowledge base, with the sources it used; the team can pause it in any conversation and answer instead. Administrators also get an audit log with pauses, assignments and configuration changes.

Reports show how many messages the assistant answered automatically, with AI or the menu, how many handoffs to a person were recorded, and a customer satisfaction estimate the AI itself produces for closed conversations.

When a custom build is the right call

There are cases where a platform is not enough: when the assistant has to run operations in your systems (check live stock, issue an invoice, change a booking) or when the conversation follows such a specific flow that no configuration covers it.

Before commissioning a build, it is worth seeing how far you get with configuration, Volga's webhooks and, from the Growth plan, its API, which notify your systems when a lead is created or a conversation is handed off. Many businesses find that the build they were about to order was, in fact, loading their information properly.

  • Operations in your systems during the chat: a build or an integration.
  • Answering, collecting data, simple orders and handoff: configuration.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a developer to implement AI in customer service?

Not for the usual needs. In Volga the AI is configured from the dashboard with your business information and connected to WhatsApp or your website without programming. A developer is only needed if you want to integrate it with your own systems through the API.

How do I implement Gemini, ChatGPT or another model for customer service?

You don't have to: Volga already includes the AI model and connects it to your information and your channel. Depending on your plan, an administrator can choose among the available models from Settings. Gemini is not among the options.

What information does the agent need to answer well?

What you would tell a new employee: products or services with prices, opening hours, payment methods, shipping, policies and the questions you get most often. It is loaded as text, files or spreadsheets, and the team updates it whenever something changes.

Can I test it before it talks to customers?

Yes. The dashboard has a test console to chat with the assistant without WhatsApp. It uses the same configuration it will use with customers and never sends messages to anyone.
